Winter is a fun season for many reasons, but gives you additional things that you should worry about, such as your hair. This dry season causes your scalp and hair to dry and you may even notice flakes in your hair. The important thing to keep in mind that flakes and dandruff are two seperate issues. It isn’t uncommon to have flakes in the winter, but don’t make the mistake of most and call it dandruff. Dandruff is a fungal problem where yellow clumps of tissue form on the scalp and flakes are small and white. If you have dandruff, then you want to use an anti-fungal product to treat it, but if you have flakes, then a moisturizing product will be what you need to fix the issue.
Keep in mind that if you use a product that is directed to fix dandruff for flakes, then you will only proceed to dry out your hair even further, when will in turn cause more flakes on your head. If you are unsure about what you have or need any recommendations about hair products, ask your hair stylist since they are fimiliar with your hair and can point you in the right direction.
